Introducing La Flâneuse, a waxed cotton coat for the woman who strolls the city for enjoyment. A simple oversized silhouette paired with a single contrast sleeve, matched at the collar and pocket welts. The pockets sit high, just below the bust, and the length falls to mid-calf. Made for long walks with nowhere to be and when the weather can’t decide.

  • SHELL: 100% cotton twill, waxed, 189gsm
  • LINING: 52% viscose, 48% polyester taffeta

Waxed cotton is stiff at first but softens with wear, much like leather. Over time it develops patina shaped by how you move – that's what makes the coat yours.
Care & Maintenance

This coat asks little of you. Most days, it needs nothing at all. The steps below are for the occasional mark or the once-a-season refresh.

EXTERIOR. Spot treat only. Wipe marks away with a sponge and cold water. No hot water, no washing machine and no dry cleaning.

For stubborn stains, use a small amount of mild soap with lukewarm water and a soft brush. Please note, this area will lose its water-repellant properties and will need to be re-waxed.

INTERIOR. Turn the coat inside out and wipe the lining with a soft sponge and water. For stains, use a small amount of mild soap, then wipe the area with a clean, damp sponge. To freshen the lining, mist it lightly with a mix of water and white vinegar.

DRYING. After any cleaning, hang the coat in a well-ventilated spot, away from direct heat, and let it dry fully before it goes back in your closet.

RE-WAXING. When the cotton starts to look dry or stops beading water, usually after one to two years of regular wear, means it's time to re-wax. A guide to doing this at home is coming soon. In the meantime, contact us with any questions.

Product Sizing

La Flâneuse is cut oversized on purpose and comes in three sizes. If you're between sizes, size down for a closer fit.

The model is 5'9", usually wears a size 6, and is wearing a medium.

Measurements are taken with the coat laid flat and are approximate. For the best fit, lay your favourite coat flat, measure it the same way and compare.
